The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. This peaceful summer scene was painted outdoors at the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge in southern Washington State. A lovely place to visit and spend a few hours painting and looking for birds and other wildlife :)
